  • Tasks & accountability. Turn findings into assignable tasks with comments, audit trail, and reassignment history. Notifications in-app, by email, or to Teams.

  • Guest dashboards. Tenant-wide and per-site guest views: redemption state, domains, workspace memberships, newly added guests.
  • Sharing links report. Every sharing link per site — kind, file, who used it — with one-click revoke and a full audit log.
  • External sharing control. Read and change site sharing levels directly (via the Governance Service).

  • Runs as you. The web part acts with the signed-in user's own SharePoint permissions — no tenant-wide app access. Tenant dashboards use delegated Graph permissions a SharePoint admin approves once; the product still only ever acts as the signed-in user.
  • Your data stays put. All governance data lives in lists in your own tenant. Only license validation talks to Team SP Essentials — never your content.
  • Optional service, two models. The Governance Service runs hosted by Team SP Essentials or deployed into your own Azure — same code, your choice of control.

Does it need admin consent?+

The web part installs from your app catalog and runs with each signed-in user's own permissions. Tenant-wide dashboards use delegated Microsoft Graph permissions, which a SharePoint administrator approves once on the API access page. The optional Governance Service uses application permissions you consent to explicitly — documented in the security one-pager.

Where is my data stored?+

In SharePoint lists on your own tenant's root site. Nothing is stored with Team SP Essentials. Only license validation contacts our license server, and it sends your tenant ID and license key — never content.

Do I need the Governance Service?+

No. The full product works interactively: you run scans and load data yourself, with your own permissions. The service adds automation — nightly storage and sharing data for every site, scheduled scans, and in-app external sharing control — and sees all sites regardless of who is logged in.

What does the AI do, and what does it cost?+

AI guidance is opt-in and uses your own API key, so you control the data and the spend. It is included in every tier at no extra cost. Every AI output is marked as suggested and should be reviewed before production use.

How long does a scan take?+

A single site scans in seconds in your browser. With the Governance Service, a full tenant refresh of hundreds of sites completes in about two minutes, automatically, every night.

Does it work with Copilot?+

Copilot readiness is a first-class score: the engine checks the things that make Copilot answers good or dangerous — oversharing, stale content, missing metadata — and the fix generator can output Copilot skills your users run directly.
